METHOD OF APPLICATION PREPARATION
The substrate should be dry and free from grease, oil or other forms of contamination. The substrate should be roughened to achieve an adequate key. Expansion joints must be re-sawn after application and filled with a suitable jointing material.
MIXING / APPLICATION
Prime the surface with two coats of Stable-Screed primer diluted 1 part primer to 3 parts water. The primer should be applied by soft broom allowing the first coat to dry before the second application. Screed primer should be dry before screed application. Stable-Screed IT may be pumped using a conventional screed pump (eg M-Tec or PFT) - the water gauge should be adjusted to achieve the required flow. After placing, spread to the required thickness using a serrated spatula or pin screed. Entrapped air and trowel marks should be removed with a spiked roller. Stable-Screed IT may also be applied manually. Add one 25Kg bag of powder to 5.0 litres of clean water in a mixing vessel and mix using a slow speed drill and paddle. Mix for 3 minutes or until smooth, lump free uniform consistency is achieved. Under no circumstances should the recommended water addition be exceeded. Minimum application temperature 4°C.
SEALING
Stable-Screed IT should always be sealed between 12 and 48 hours after application due to the porous nature of the screed which can be easily stained by liquids. Stable-Screed IT can be sealed with clear or coloured FFD Hydra coat epoxy paint. (see separate data sheet)
